A local list of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to help anyone struggling with withdrawal, “dope sickness”, and cravings from opioids while living at home. Alcohol withdrawal also applies with MAT. This is ideal for:
- Those discharging from a hospital where MAT was started but need follow-up.
- Those who cannot afford inpatient hospital medical detox.
- Those not needing 24/7 care offered at inpatient hospital medical detox.
- Those who cannot leave work/school to go into a hospital setting.
It is highly suggested to enter low-cost sober living or stay in a stable environment without triggers while on MAT.
- FDA-approved medications include Methadone, Buprenorphine, and Naltrexone.
- Most MAT centers also provide counseling and psychiatric services.
- MAT curbs withdrawal enabling patients to work on their sobriety.
- Patients should be 100% open and honest with their MAT teams.
- MAT should be combined with anonymous meetings and counseling.
- The amount of time spent on MAT is case-by-case.
- On average without insurance MAT costs $80-$160/week.
